As the university is located in southern part of Iran, in which agriculture is one of the outstanding resources, the main objectives of the department has been concentrated on application of computer science in agriculture. We intended to utilize data science, machine learning and IoT in agriculture science in order to improve the quality of products, fight diseases and in general, enhance the agricultural level, while moving from traditional agriculture to modern one. Accordingly, we are also studying the usage of drones and some projects in the field of smart irrigation are also in progress.

Furthermore, the faculty is currently working on a software (mobile application) for identifying the diseases of lime tree with all its might. The perspective is to develop similar software for other plants as well.

Last but not least, the university is teaching knowledgeable, creative young experts which will definitely play a great role in agriculture and computer areas of study.
